Often the life of a child with special needs takes place within the family. It interferes with his socialization, a difficult burden for the next of kin. To somehow help sick children and their families, the Moscow Jewish Community House conducts the project "Integration of children with special needs."
Participates in 23 families where children from 3 to 12 years diagnosed with early infantile autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other severe neurological disease and injury. Project was launched in February 2010, led by their experienced professionals: teachers, psychologists, speech pathologists. Purpose - to include a child with special needs in the life of Jewish communities, socialize it, to expand horizons, to bring the child's life vivid impressions and positive emotions.
For parents, hold special sessions, discussions and consultations. Arrange training for volunteers - teachers. Organize a Shabbaton for children, children's events, visit parks, museums, theaters, cultural and recreational centers.
Particularly popular classes at the ceramic workshop, where kids with their hands can make crafts and gifts to parents or friends. It is extremely important and useful lessons, where children are taught how to behave at the table, possible assistance in cooking. Likes children excursion to the Museum of Darwin, the Zoo, but the most vivid and memorable event - a meeting with the clowns.
