This was the conclusion made by Dorith Golender,  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel in Russia, after she visited a photo exhibition «Jews in Russia: Revival of traditions».

This was the conclusion made by Dorith Golender,  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel in Russia, after she visited a photo exhibition «Jews in Russia: Revival of traditions».

That exhibition was organized by Renaissance of Traditions Fund «Jewish National Fund» and was held this July in one of the most prestigious exhibition halls of Moscow – in the Photo Centre at Gogolevsky Boulevard. Despite summer vacation period many citizens and guests of Moscow attended the exhibition.

According to visitors’ comments the exhibition was a success! It turned out kind and joyful. That is what many guests said among whom were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel in Russia Dorith Golender; Adolf Shayevich, Chief Rabbi of Russia; Evgeniy Gerasimov, Chairman of Moscow City Council Committee for Culture and National Artist of Russia; Alexander Gelman, Jury Chairman of the contest and public figure and many others.

Here is what Dorith Golender wrote in a guest book: «I was happy to attend a fabulous exhibition reflecting Jewish life in Russia. It is unique! How people can implement their principles of life observing their religious and traditionally Jewish beliefs! And the most important – Russian Jewry is flourishing. Good luck to the authors of photo-works. With deepest respect, ambassador of the State of Israel in Russia Dorith Golender ».

Curator of the exhibition and Director of JNF Rafael Feinberg said that 88 best photographs were chosen out of several thousands of works submitted for the contest. A lot of photographs capture children which testifies the fact that Jewish community of Russia has a future!
